Committed to human rights, women's empowerment, and youth development
The Sawa Organization for Human Rights is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Iraq. Established and officially registered in 2012, Sawa has emerged as a dedicated voice for human dignity and fundamental freedoms across the country.
Sawa is committed to the promotion and protection of human rights in Iraq. We achieve this through specialized programs focused on monitoring, documenting violations, and providing legal and emergency support to the most vulnerable groups and human rights defenders at risk.
We believe that a just and stable society is built upon the foundational principle of respecting the inherent rights of every individual, without exception or discrimination.
