The Sawa Organization is officially registered in Iraq with the NGOs Directorate of the General Secretariat for the Council of Ministers. This formal affiliation with the highest administrative body governing non-governmental entities confirms our rigorous compliance. Our registration was finalized on February 27, 2012. We are classified as a (Local) organization under the precise provisions of Law No. (12) of 2010 concerning Non-Governmental Organizations, bearing the official registration number (1H74316).

This registration ensures that Sawa practices its business with moral character and confirms our unwavering commitment to accountability and full legal compliance with the Iraqi Constitution and all prevailing national laws. Furthermore, our status grants us the legal mandate necessary to confidently execute our mission of human rights protection, even in challenging environments.
